This exceptional set of three vintage railway signal lanterns was sourced in Austria and dates from approximately the 1930s–1950s. Originally used as kerosene-powered railway or road signal lamps, they have survived as beautifully weathered examples of European industrial design. Crafted from painted steel with large glass lenses, each lantern retains its original locking key—a feature rarely found on complete sets. Their rich red patina, authentic signs of use, and robust construction give them remarkable sculptural presence, making them equally suitable for collectors and interior designers. Today these lanterns transcend their original purpose and function as striking decorative objects for lofts, country houses, hotels, restaurants, boutiques, galleries, or architectural interiors. Displayed together, they create an impressive installation with strong industrial character. They are also ideal as styling pieces for luxury retail window displays, Christmas installations, garden settings, film productions, theatre stages, museums, and professional photography. Up to 250V (Europe/UK Standard). The wiring of this item may be original and might need replacement, if not specified otherwise.
