Rare and superb living room set composed of 5 elements: a bench seat / sofa / divan, two armchairs and two side chairs. The structures are in mahogany. The backrests are carved with flowers. The seats and backs are covered with an elegant pink velvet fabric. Art Deco, France, circa 1920-1925. By Paul Follot (1877-1942), Parisian cabinetmaker and decorator, disciple of Eugène Grasset and friend of Maurice Dufrène. He is one of the founding members of the Society and the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs (SDA). He participated in many Universal Exhibitions, including that of 1925 where he created the Pomona pavilion. Some of his work is exhibited at the Musée d'Orsay. In good general condition. Sofa dimensions: height 84cm width 135cm depth 80cm Armchair dimensions: height 82cm width 72cm depth 72cm Chairs dimensions: height 88cm width 52cm depth 56cm All elements have a seat height of 48 cm. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
