The finely carved giltwood frames embody the elegance of the Louis XVI style with oval backs, bead-and-reel molding, ribbon and floral cresting, gracefully scrolled arms, and fluted tapered legs. Over time, the original gilt finish has acquired a rich, warm patina, enhancing the suite's refined character while reflecting generations of careful use. Each fauteuil showcases a unique woven pastoral vignette surrounded by delicate floral garlands, while the canapé features larger coordinating scenes, creating a harmonious yet wonderfully varied ensemble.
