Vienna Secession Bentwood Salon Suite By Josef Hoffmann For Jacob & Josef Kohn, 1890s, Set Of 3

Chairish

$14,295

Elegant Vienna Secession bentwood salon suite attributed to a design by Josef Hoffmann and closely related to documented models produced by Jacob & Josef Kohn, Vienna, circa 1905. The suite comprises a two-seat settee and a pair of matching armchairs executed in black stained bent beech with characteristic semicircular arms and vertical spindle construction reflecting the restrained geometric language of early Viennese modernism. Professionally reupholstered in high-quality cognac leather with brass nailhead trim, the ensemble presents a refined contrast between the dark architectural frames and warm leather surfaces. The upholstery remains in excellent condition and complements the sculptural quality of the design exceptionally well. The ebonized frames display minor age-related wear, surface marks, and localized paint loss consistent with age and use. Structurally sound and stable throughout. Comparable examples and related Hoffmann/Kohn seating models have appeared through Dorotheum, Bukowskis, and international design galleries specializing in Vienna Secession and Wiener Werkstätte furniture. A sophisticated and highly decorative seating ensemble combining strong architectural presence with timeless early modern Austrian design. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
