The Sanktjohanser furniture manufactory has been in operation since the mid-1980s. Father Hubert and son Matthias Sanktjohanser design unique, exciting, and intelligent furniture creations with clear and consistent forms. Architecture and furniture form a constructive dialogue. The "Social Cube" combination from 2001 has long since become a classic and is part of the collections of, among others, the MAK (Museum of Applied Arts) in Vienna and the Museum of Arts and Crafts in Hamburg. The set consists of four elements: a table, two stools, and a small shelf. The stools and shelf are equipped with concealed casters and can be slid neatly under the table when not in use. All components are made of birch plywood and are so sturdy that they can be used as seating. The stools offer ample storage space inside. Two felt pads are also included, which can be used as seat cushions. The set is in excellent condition. Apart from the shelf unit having darkened slightly from sunlight, no signs of wear are visible. Birch plywood darkens slightly over time, acquiring a warm, golden-yellow tone. The faint shadow on the top of the shelf should therefore disappear after a while. The set has not been used for a long time and was stored in its packaging. The table measures 71 x 71 cm and is 43 cm high. The stools have a seat height of 41 cm.
