This listing is for an exceptional and very rare mid-century modern brazilian vintage lounge leather armchair set with original leather upholstery. the armchairs – shown here with the extremely rare, matching ottoman – model mp-91 “earth” were designed and produced in brazil by the renowned furniture manufacturer percival lafer in the 1960s and 1970s. percival lafer is a contemporary brazilian furniture manufacturer and a pioneer of brazilian modernism. this charismatic living room lounge set in genuine leather includes a three-seater sofa, two armchairs, and a matching ottoman/stool. the seat shell is the same as that of percival lafer's very well-known design object, the “earth chair.” the frame is made of exquisite, solid jatoba wood. (expert opinion from the thünen institute for wood research in hamburg is available.) special features include the beautifully patinated dark brown leather, the organically curved seat shell – which appears to float – and the angular, minimalist base. this offer includes two mp-91 armchairs plus the matching ottoman. dimensions: armchairs: width 31.50 inches + depth 32.68 inches + height 35.43 inches condition the items are in good vintage condition with a few minor, insignificant signs of use and age. these include superficial scratches, scuffs, and nicks on the wooden frame, as well as some minor color variations/wear due to light and use, and a few lighter spots on the wood surface. the leather has an acceptable, normal patina—we think it has a wonderful patina—with minor color variations due to light and use, scratches, and small areas of slight wear. these marks are slightly more visible upon closer inspection, but are not significant\.\.
