This pair of mid century Danish modern Model 3320 Swan chairs by Arne Jacobsen for Fritz Hansen were made in Denmark in the 1960s. The beautiful Swan chair was designed by Arne Jacobsen in 1958 for the lobby and lounge areas of his SAS Royal Hotel in Copenhagen - the city’s first high-rise building inspired by the skyscrapers of New York City. The design of the Swan chair contains no straight lines, making it look organic and soft; with a striking simplicity and strong architectural appeal, it is now one the most iconic chairs of mid-20th century Danish modern design. These early edition chairs feature an aluminum 4-star base with a fluted stem and 360 degree swivel. The chairs may have been reupholstered at some point. The soft white cotton fabric shows some sagging and general light staining. The fabric has not been cleaned. Both chairs retain Fritz Hansen Made in Denmark manufacturer’s stickers and have FH logo and serial numbers stamped on base.NOTE: Chairs are priced individually.CONDITIONFair vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use.
