This is an antique ladies Colonial veranda chair. An English, beech and cane extending carrying seat, dating to the late Victorian period, circa 1895. A rare and delightful outdoor lounge chair, with added carrying handles Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout Quality beech stocks present fine grain interest and warm caramel hues Superb cane back rest and seat squab, in taut and intact condition Delightful chair for lounging in a shaded corner of the garden or upon a veranda In period, the extending front handles and fixed rear handles aided movement of the occupant Gently falling arms with a bowed middle terminate in scrolled knuckles Standing upon a quartet of turned and tapering legs Maker's plaque to the rear with minor historic repair, reads Carter, 147 Holborn, E.C.
