Bird Lounge Chair By Harry Bertoia For Knoll, 1960s

Chairish

$2,014

Bertoia Bird Chair, designed by Harry Bertoia in 1952 for Knoll International (USA), is an icon within Mid-Century Modern design. This early version from the 1960s, produced by Knoll, has a sculptural frame of black metal and a seat upholstered in blue Kvadrat fabric. Comfortable and spacious, the chair is often considered one of Bertoia’s most expressive designs. Dimensions: h x w x d = 95 x 96 x 85 cm, seat height 37 cm. Source: Book Knoll, Schiffer, p. 42 (see photo). This original vintage armchair is still in good condition, with normal signs of use and some discolouration at the edges of the fabric. The chair has been fully checked and repaired where necessary: the frame is solid again, the rubbers under the seat have been replaced, the upholstery has been professionally cleaned and four new floor glides have been fitted. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
