Grete Jalk was one of the most renowned Scandinavian furniture designers. After an apprenticeship as a cabinetmaker, she studied at the Danish Design School. In 1963, she won a competition with her Laminated Chair and achieved international acclaim. Today, many of her designs are in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
