A stylish Art Deco elm bentwood and beechwood framed lounge chair with Bute light grey wool upholstery. Circa 1930s. The bentwood arms show wonderful figuring to the elm, with beechwood stretchers. The frame has been re-finished in a shellac, it has a smooth waxed finish with a nice shine. The chair still retains a few light authentic marks to highlight its genuine heritage. There are also some natural grain markings in the wood to the beechwood stretchers. The bases to the back of the elm legs show some darker marks. The chair has been reupholstered in a light grey wool by Bute fabrics, Isle of Bute, Scotland. (70% Wool, 25% Polyamide, 5% other fibres. All fibres from recycled source) The chair is very comfortable, and is sturdy with no loose joints. Additional dimensions information: The inside seat width is 51cm.
