Hem's Experiment lounge chair is based on a collection originally designed by Yrjö Kukkapuro for Avarte. Kukkapuro created the Experiment series in the 1980s during the rise of postmodernism as he shifted toward a more expressive design. The collection was first time introduced at the Milan Furniture Fair, where it achieved tremendous success – it was featured in dozens of magazines worldwide and marked the pinnacle of Professor Kukkapuro’s career. Now, Hem has brought back this retro and nostalgic piece from the 1980s for all lovers of high-quality and playful design. The proportions of the Experiment lounge chair have been updated to meet the standards of today, but the overall design remains faithful to Kukkapuro’s original, with its undulating armrests and colorful details.
