This exceptional lounge chair is the rare f156 “little oyster” designed by pierre paulin for artifort. Introduced in 1959, the f156 is the smaller version of paulin’s iconic oyster series. Unlike the larger and more common f157, the f156 was produced for a shorter period, was never reissued, and is therefore significantly rarer on the collectors’ market today. This example is an authentic early edition, true to the original mid-century specifications. the chair features paulin’s characteristic sculptural shell, offering an open, embracing form while remaining visually light. The elegantly curved seat rests on its original nickel-plated steel frame, a hallmark of early artifort production.
