Folding Lounge Chair By André Monpoix, France, 1950s

Chairish

$845

A rare french lounge chair by andré monpoix from the 1950s, featuring a striking, graphic design and a delicate metal frame. The design combines the lightness of french post-war design with an almost sculptural appearance. A particularly characteristic feature is the stretched black plastic cord upholstery, which forms the seat, backrest, and armrests, giving the chair a transparent, airy feel. The white lacquered metal frame provides a striking contrast. The slightly reclined seating position and the flexibly stretched upholstery ensure a high level of comfort and lend the chair a pleasant lightness despite its minimalist construction. The foldable version is especially rare, uniquely combining functionality with modern french design of the 1950s. condition: good vintage condition with age-related wear, minor paint chips on the metal frame, and a light patina. The upholstery is in good condition. dimensions: l64 x w61 x h81 cm seat height: 43 cm i have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
