The Frank Lloyd Wright Rockford Chair from Steelcase is open, expressive, and fabulously forward-looking. An intricate interpretation of Wright's "Usonian" architectural style that focuses on simple geometry and accessible architecture for the masses, it was inspired by the Laurent house in Rockford, Illinois, designed to house a disabled veteran. It is the only house Wright designed to feature total wheelchair accessibility, accessibility found in all elements of its design, with its angular legs that contrast well with a curving back that doubles as a short armrest. An acrylic and polyester blend of ivory upholstery surfaces the seat and back cushions, adding subtle softness to the smooth wood frame. At the same time, the natural individuality of the woodgrain remains on full display.
