Gotham

Gotham is an armchair with a painted steel frame, solid oak armrests, and cushions in polyurethane upholstered in Casentino wool, cotton velvet, or corduroy.‎It is the smaller sister of the original Gotham armchair and, while it shares its aesthetic and structural principles, it introduces two new elements into the formal language of the Gotham family: curved lines in the metal frame and exaggerated, voluminous padded textile parts.‎ These elements give the armchair a playful and inviting character, while preserving the visual contrast that is the distinctive stylistic hallmark of all Gotham seating.‎ This contrast is intentional and further enhanced by the oak armrests, which not only serve an important ergonomic function but also introduce a third formal and material language.‎We can upholster Gotham seating with any fabric, but the ones that best highlight its character are Casentino wool—a traditional Tuscan wool fabric historically used for clothing and introduced by Epònimo into the world of contemporary furniture—and cotton corduroy.‎ The steel structure is also color-coordinated with the padded elements, either to complement them or to create an additional harmonious contrast.‎Despite its compact dimensions, the new Gotham armchair offers an excellent level of comfort.‎
