Janine Abraham and architect Dirk Jan Rol rattan lounge chair manufactured by Rougier, c. 1958. The elegant basket seat shell is held by black lacquered steel frame. In 1958, their aluminium, wooden and wicker furniture won the second prize at the Salon des Artistes Décorateurs and their "Soleil" armchair the gold medal at the World Exhibition in Brussels. Very good condition with excellent patina throughout.
