A Victorian Show Frame armchair in mahogany with navy blue squab cushions to the seat and backrest. The square tapering uprights enclose a straight top rail over three turned splats. with open padded arms accompanied by scroll terminals and turned tapering supports. The base is raised on ring turned tapering front legs with brass toes and castors. The armchair seat cushions have been fully restored with calico coverings before being finished in velvet upholstery and finished in sapphire blue piping. A remarkable chair in a wonderful country house condition. English, circa 1880.
