Mid-Century Danish Teak High Back Lounge Chair Attributed To Gustav Thams, 1961

Chairish

$1,252

Danish Mid-Century Teak High Back Lounge Chair by Gustav Thams. The designer chair is designed as a high-backed chair and the model is called: Condor. The upholstery is from around the 1990s and some of the color is a bit faded. The cushions of the upholstery are filled with hard foam. They offer a high level of seating comfort and are tight/not soft. The backrest cushions are buttoned at the top and the buttons are fastened in the middle at the back. This prevents the backrest cushions from slipping. The armchair offers very comfortable sitting. Gustav Tham's armchair is a typical piece of Scandinavian mid-century design. The solid teak, the organic shape of the armrest and the lightness of the design make the armchair an eye-catcher, no matter from which perspective you look at it. The manufacturer is “Vejen Polstermøbel” and the piece dates from the 1960s. The condition is good for its age. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
