In the 1950s, he moved to Brazil and established a successful furniture design studio in Sao Paulo. Gillon was particularly known for his use of Brazilian rosewood and other exotic woods, and his designs often featured clean lines and minimalist details that merge into the Organic Modern Design realm. Gillon's work was highly influential in the Brazilian modernist movement, and he is considered one of the most important designers of his era.
