This chair, which is a true eye-catcher, is manufactured by the Swedish company Diö Slöjd & Möbler in the 1950. Note its beautifully exposed black-lacquered frame! Much like an architect leaving beams visible in a mid-century home to showcase the beauty of the structure. Here, too, the visible frame adds a striking, powerful presence to the design. Its upholstery is an orange bouclé that has aged gracefully. Apart from the expected wear consistent with age and use, it shows no other defects. It may even be the original fabric. This chair is also incredibly comfortable. Its reclined backrest encourages a relaxed seating position, inviting you to lean back and unwind. Just as Scandinavian designers intended. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history.
