Beautiful pair of 1950s easy chairs by Otto Schultz, Sweden. The elegant organic lines of the design create a striking silhouette. With its classic shape paired with modern design, the generous curved backrest features buttoned diamond shaped tufting and follows the curve of the voluptuous seat are perfectly sculpted to accommodate the sitter. In a sumptuous bouclé cream upholstery which gives these chairs a soft, modern edge that perfectly complements any existing interior scheme. The wood is the most important material in Swedish mid-century design, therefore the luxurious upholstery highlights and complements the beauty of the wood rather than overpowering it. In restored condition these chairs exudes quality and personality from all angles. Otto Schulz (1882-1970) was Swedish interior designer, furniture designer, publisher and founder of the furniture company BOET in Gothenburg. He mainly produced opulent upholstered furniture, as well as lavishly inlaid, decorative box furniture style-wise between functionalism and traditionalism.
