In 1957, Danish furniture upholsterer-turned-designer Arnold Madsen unveiled his revolutionary armchair with a cocooning shape fashioned from layers of foam. Oda’s horseshoe back, integrated armrests and gently molded lumbar and neck support make it a standout for lounging. Reconstructed from a vintage model (no drawings of the original design still exist), the level of craft required is evident in the intricacy of its upholstery and turned wooden legs.
