The interplay between the object and its shadow (“ombra” in Italian) expresses Perriand’s aesthetic, where function is maximised while structure is minimised. The Ombra lounge chair is an exquisitely elegant and highly inventive design. This piece features straight geometric lines flowing into one another, making it look as if it’s one continuous piece.
