Pop Art Langue Assise Tongue Lounge Chair By Louis Durot, France, 1970s

Chairish

$11,592

Iconic "Langue Assise" (Tongue Chair) designed by French artist Louis Durot, a pivotal figure in the Pop Art and radical design movement of the 1970s. Made from sculpted polyurethane foam with lacquered finish, this biomorphic form captures the bold, playful energy of postmodernism. The piece is all original, presented “dans son jus” (in untouched vintage condition). It shows loss to the lacquer finish and foam degradation, consistent with age and material, making it a collectible artifact with authentic patina. Documented in Louis Durot: Polyurethannes by Rodriguez (illustrated, unpaginated), this sculptural lounge chair is an important reference in radical French design. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
