In the late 1970s, the danish furniture manufacturer fritz hansen commissioned designer jens amundsen to create a furniture series for the waiting area at copenhagen airport. The commission came from the sas group (scandinavian airlines system). The series designed by amundsen includes, for example, two- and three-seater sofas, as well as lounge chairs with and without armrests; consequently, the entire collection is known as the ‘sas series’. interesting detail: a sticker from the danish manufacturer fritz hansen, indicating a production year of 1982, is located on the aluminum frame beneath the seat. condition: the lounge chair is in virtually new condition following restoration and reupholstery.
