$16,962

Iconic pair of “Spanish Chairs” designed by Børge Mogensen for Fredericia Stolefabrik, Denmark, originally designed in 1958. Crafted in solid oak with original cognac saddle leather, these celebrated lounge chairs are among the most recognizable and enduring examples of Danish Modern design. Inspired by traditional Spanish furniture and reinterpreted through Mogensen’s functional Scandinavian philosophy, the chairs feature wide solid oak armrests that cleverly function as integrated side tables, while the suspended saddle leather seats and backs provide exceptional comfort and character. Thick vegetable-tanned leather is secured with adjustable brass buckles and detailed contrast stitching, emphasizing the honest craftsmanship and architectural simplicity of the design. This pair retains its original leather with a beautiful aged patina, rich tonal variation, and authentic wear consistent with age and use. The solid oak frames have developed a warm natural finish over time, further enhancing the sculptural presence of the chairs. A masterclass in Scandinavian craftsmanship and functional design, these lounge chairs work beautifully within Danish Modern, Brutalist, Organic Modern, Wabi-Sabi, and minimalist interiors. Designed by Børge Mogensen and produced by Fredericia Stolefabrik, Denmark. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
