Exceptional Selig-attributed scoop lounge chair with steel base, American-made in the 1960s. The chair has been fully reupholstered with new high density foam and a period-perfect speckled wool boucle by Raf Simons for Kvadrat's "Atom" collection. The plush, swooping seat stands in contrast with the spartan lines of the blade-thin stainless steel legs. The seat’s ergonomically optimized curvature makes it ideal for a prolonged sit. An excellent specimen of American atomic era design that fits both mid century and contemporary decor. The piece bears no maker’s mark.
