Rare early E. Kold Christensen production "PK-22"s by Poul Kjærholm in original dark aniline leather with an amazing deep patina. The leather and canvas upholstery work on these early production chairs were all handmade at the workshop of Master Upholsterer Ivan Schlechters. The frame is made from matt-plated steel. This example was made in the 1960s and is marked by maker. Collectors item. The "PK-22" was designed in 1956 and is one of Poul Kjærholms most iconic designs. It is a simple yet sophisticated construction combining two edges of bent steel connected beneath the seat by curved steel struts and covered with layers of canvas and leather. The iconic chair won the Grand Prize at the Milan Triennale in 1957 and exemplifies Poul Kjærholm’s vision and quest for the ideal form and dimension. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
