Womb Chair By Eero Saarinen For Knoll, 1960s

Chairish

$6,955

The Womb Chair was designed by Eero Saarinen in 1946 at the request of Florence Knoll, who wanted a chair that would provide complete comfort: “like a basket full of pillows.” Saarinen’s solution was a revolutionary form: an enveloping, sculptural seat that supported multiple relaxed postures, made possible by a molded fiberglass shell and an upholstered foam interior. This example, produced by Knoll / Switzerland in the 1960s, has been reupholstered in Tignes, a luxurious ultra soft faux fur from the French textile house Casal. The thick, long-pile fabric is soft to the touch and finished in a warm brown tone, adding both texture and warmth to the piece. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
