Antique mahogany lyre-back settee that showcases the transitions between the Federal, Empire, and Classical Revival periods. The settee features a graceful silhouette, defined by sweeping arms, slender cabriole legs, and the centerpeice backrest that is anchored by three elegantly carved lyre-form splats. The mahogany frame boasts a rich, deep hue with a nice patina. The top rail features an intricate, hand-carved crest depicting stylized floral rosettes and gadrooned detailing, adding a layer of texture against a finely stippled background. The upholstry has been beautifully updated in a pale ice-blue diamond-patterned jacquard textile that perfectly complements the deep warmth of the mahogany wood tone. Condition: Very good antique condition with minor age-appropriate wear to the wood finish—including faint surface scuffs and minor indentations on the lower legs. The upholstery is clean and in very good condition, showing only very minimal signs of use. The frame and seat are sturdy. Dimensions Width: 45.5ʺ Depth: 20ʺ Height: 40.5ʺ
