Iconic Italian two-seat sofa, model 904 “Vanity Fair” by Poltrona Frau, originally designed in 1930 and later renamed in 1984. This piece represents one of the most recognizable forms in 20th-century Italian design, defined by its rounded, enveloping silhouette. The structure is made of seasoned solid beechwood. Traditional upholstery construction includes hand-shaped vegetable horsehair combined with rubberized horsehair, while the seat cushion is filled with goose down for added comfort. The suspension system is composed of hand-tied biconical steel springs fixed on jute webbing, ensuring durability and structural integrity over time. Upholstered in red Pelle Frau® leather, finished with a row of leather-covered nails along the back and sides. Numbered production with metal plaque. Condition: very good vintage condition. The leather shows light, even wear consistent with age and use, with minor creasing on the seat cushions. No structural issues. A well-preserved example of an enduring design icon, suitable for both residential and professional interiors.
