In 1969, Richard Himmel designed a furniture group for Interior Crafts, the venerable custom Chicago furniture maker. Bearing obvious French influences, his "Collection Lutece" updated traditional forms. Included in this collection was a settee, fully upholstered, including the splayed legs. This pair of Himmel settees have been newly reupholstered in deep blue Edelman calfskin leather.
