Late 19th-century English wall pocket, cut and pierced from solid brass in a stylized crown motif. Known as a "tidy," this form was traditionally mounted near hearths or entryways to hold letters, matches, or small notes. Rich patina throughout adds depth and contrast to the intricate silhouette.
