Lovely Victorian era black laquered chinoiserie letter caddy, probably originating from England in the late 1800’s or early 1900’s. Beautifully-decorated with gilded Asian figures in a scenic Display. I believe this to be wood but it is quite possibly papier mache, as many others have described it. No markings.
