A sofa designed by Eberhard Geißler, produced at the Oelsa Furniture Factory in Rabenau, East Germany, in the 1970s. This piece captures the innovative and flexible spirit of 1970s design, where furniture was created with multi-functionality in mind. Designed as a modular piece, the sofa consists of two elements connected together with butterfly screws. The structure is crafted from upholstery foam, wooden boards, and solid wood, with the seats supported by webbing and wave springs. The sofa has been re-upholstered in a durable, brand-new textured fabric featuring a sophisticated pattern in shades of grey and beige, accented by a dynamic, dark stippled motif, while the base has been upholstered in natural black leather. The internal seat padding has been replaced, while the original spring system was retained to preserve the authentic seating experience. Sofa dimensions: height 70cm, width: 151cm, depth: 82cm, seat height 42cm armchairs: height 70cm, width: 88cm, depth: 82cm, seat height 42cm The modules retain their well-preserved original labels.
