This stunning 1980s Roche Bobois modular wall unit is a true statement piece from one of Europe’s most iconic luxury furniture houses. Finished in deep black lacquer with glass doors and cabinetry shelving, it reflects the sleek, sculptural design language that defined the modern interiors of the era. I’ve always loved how it anchors a room; its mirrored surfaces catch the light beautifully, and its balanced geometry makes even an empty wall feel intentional. It’s one of those rare pieces that feels architectural, bold, elegant, and endlessly adaptable. The item was originally made custom for my parent's master bedroom seating lounge in 1984 and I have kept it for 40 years. It is assembled with metal and wood dowels and can be dismantled into around 24 pieces for ease of moving. Lletting it go feels like saying goodbye to a piece of both design and my family history.
