American late Sheraton two drawer night stand circa 1810 to 1820. Possibly from New York State. Composed of cherry primary wood with mahogany veneers. Nice old set of brass knobs. The overhang top features a reeded rim and the legs are done in a bold rope twist pattern. Again I will mention that all the pieces shown here of these early periods share the remarkable features such as hand planning and cutting of boards, hand dovetailing, and mortise and tenon construction, and square nail fasteners.
