The piece is made of solid walnut and is entirely lined with paper. The Doric columns have gilded brass capitals and bases decorated with Empire motifs, as is the door knob. France, first half of the 19th century. The walnut of this small storage unit has a light, warm color. The piece comes from a private collection and is in good condition, with signs of use consistent with its two hundred years of history.
