These bedside tables in walnut and ash were first designed for a client who wanted nothing more than a book and a lamp by their bed. We begin by choosing a beautiful piece of wood for the top and let the character of the wood be the voice of the piece. For walnut we use a figured or claro walnut top and for ash, oak or cherry we look for exceptionally clean grain or figure for the top. We use a gentle rounded profile on the top and the legs for a soft feel and look. The legs are tapered and angled and joined with a floating tenon to the top. Our standard finish for bedside tables is a low sheen durable clear spray finish so that rings from mugs are not an issue but if an oil and wax is preferred please let us know.
