Pair of thonet office chairs in bent beechwood, circa 1910. The model with armrests is one of the most accomplished examples of the steam-bent wood technique: lightweight structure, continuous line from the armrests to the backrest, and splayed saber legs. the round molded plywood seats are pyrographed with a floral motif characteristic of early 20th-century thonet production. The original labels are present on both chairs. They have a uniform dark patina and are in their original condition. The two chairs are consistent in both condition and patina.
