This fine majolica centerpiece is made and hand-painted in Deruta, Italy. The Bowl recalls the ancient structure of the Greek cups that were used to mix water and wine, while its decoration reinterprets the opulent ornaments of Deruta tradition, following the original Renaissance painting technique. The inner surface of the vase features golden-yellow floral spiral motifs that stand out against a cobalt blue background, while the outer surface features contour bands adorned with plant elements of various shapes. A touch of refinement is provided by the presence, in the lower band of the central body of the object, of the traditional peacock feather motifs, characterized by delicate shades of blue and yellow tinged with white. The elegant snake handles give the vase an elegant and whimsical appearance.Dimensions: Width: 42 cm (16.5 in.), Depth: 30cm (11.8 in.), Height: 27cm (10.6 in.)Colors: antique blue, cerium oxide, golden yellow. The beauty of a deBlona majolica is determined by the ancient process, unchanged over time and handmade, which we observe to the letter in the creation of our artworks: painting ceramics is a very complex, fascinating and insidious art, but it is precisely the human and imperfect sign that makes every piece so characteristic and totally unique. deBlona's essence is represented by the interpretation of the color and by an unrepeatable taste, with which we want to give new chromatic emotions. Majolica accompanies the history of mankind, telling its existence for centuries: here, in our Atelier, we want to keep on narrating our time.
