As early as 1954 Robert Haussmann designed his famous metal ottoman RH-301 in chrome-plated flat steel as a tribute to Mies van der Rohe – since 1999 the RH-301 has been at home with De Sede. With this ottoman, Haussmann fell back on the Bauhaus maxim that the design and the material used must correspond to the intended purpose, while at the same time bowing before the great Mies van der Rohe with his interpretation. In an ingenious manner, Haussmann knew how to design his implementation, which was recognized by an award from the “compaso d’oro”. The RH-301 was also the prelude to cooperation and the founding of a Swiss designer association that would later write world history. In 1958, the design association Swiss Design was formed from the collaboration with Hans Eichenberger, Robert and Peter Haussmann, Theo Jakob and Kurt Thut. The visible chrome-plated flat steel frame gives the RH-301 ottoman a timelessly beautiful appearance. The upholstery made of high-quality leather looks aesthetic and elegant. A stool can be optionally selected to complement the RH-301.Additional information:Material: LeatherCategory: Select - BlackType: Nappa leather, lightly pigmentedThickness: 1.2 to 1.4 mmCharacteristics: Meticulous processing preserves the natural quality – with a characteristic pattern of creases, grain and pores.
