As director of design for the Herman Miller textile division, Alexander Girard had great freedom to experiment, creating more than 300 textiles during his tenure from 1952 into the 1970s. He designed his Color Wheel Ottoman (1967) with bold yet playful pinwheel colors that coordinate with an array of interiors.
