Known alternatively as ‘Carré Sunburst’, ‘Pinwheel’, ‘French Button’, ‘Deauville’ or ‘Grey Gardens’. This chair, with its original green finish, has hand-wrought iron frames with spring steel seats and backs, and rests on splayed legs. Patented by French designer Francois Carré in 1866. The innovative seat design was developed in response to the demand for seating in Parisian open parks, boulevards and at outdoor concerts. Versatile as a unique towel rest in a master bath as shown, in a garden room or kitchen stacked with books, or in an exterior garden setting. Beautiful sculptural lines.
