To ensure the umbrella will close when used in a dining table, the umbrella has a telescopic fitting. This raises the pole top section when the canopy is being closed, allowing the umbrella to be completely closed over the table. To protect the closed umbrella, a cover is included. The pole and struts are wood with nickel plated brass fittings.
