Product Description
Dougan Clarke, a consummate sailor who spent over a decade working with sails, rigging and boat design, knows what will stand up to sun, rain, salt and wind, and he designs his shades accordingly. “I sought to redefine what was previously known as an umbrella," says Clarke. “The resulting shade sculptures embody both form and function." His Tuuci Low-Profile Cantilever Umbrella (2011) is easy to use and maintain but constructed of replaceable marine-grade components to ensure a lifetime of serviceability. It features a telescoping mast and ingenious lift system that's easy enough for just about anyone to operate, with self-lubricating stainless steel internal parts that work smoother over time. And there's no need to move furniture away when you use it since the shade rises before opening. As with other shades, keep these in closed position during storms and when not in use. DWR is not responsible for accidents or damage caused by misuse or weather. Includes choice of cube base or low-profile base. Commercial quality. This shade must be used with an appropriate weighted base: either of the two options available here or one of your own. Call us at 1.800.944.2233 for specifics on the latter. Please note: Crazing lines may appear on the canopy fabric when it is first installed. Crazing is natural, due to the finishing of the fabric and does not affect the performance or characteristics of Sunbrella or other solution-dyed acrylic fabrics. The fabric remains water repellent as well as stain- and mildew-resistant and the lines will diminish over time with exposure to the elements.
