Mahogany Bramble Veneer Pedestal Table, Charles X period, with Round Tilting top. This table has a Venetian-style stained Light Wood inlay in the middle. It depicts a Woman with an Umbrella, a Child climbing a staircase, a fountain and long-tailed birds coexisting in an Animated Park. This decoration is underlined by Lemon Tree fillets, inlays that also serve to divide the tray into ten equal parts. The whole rests on a Tripod base, composed of a main shaft with slightly concave sides, and finished by three legs cut out and largely off-centre for a good grip on the ground of the Table. Lemon tree fillets are also found here as embellishments. A brass system with a half-turn bolt is positioned under the top. It allows, in a simple and quick way, to operate the tilting of the table, and to make this pedestal table not very bulky. In addition to being Functional and Adaptable, this Round Table benefits from a Veneer with beautiful Bramble Drawings and a Marquetry made with Finesse. ******** Period: Early 19th century Perfect condition after restoration in our workshop. Waxed finish on hard bottom.
