Talk about clean lines!! And who says “Size doesn’t matter?!!” At 45 cm in diameter this beauty sails into the size lead. Most French lighting bowls are a mere 13 ¾ inches (35 cm) across. The next size up, 40 cm, is rare enough. 45 cm is practically unheard of. As size increases, production becomes riskier and more difficult. So, if you want a hanging fixture which exudes PRESENCE, this one is for you! The photos tell the whole story, of how such a subtle, simple design can create such a powerful presence. The peach glass is thick, and resultantly heavy; with its frosted finish the light diffuses nicely. I’ve positioned the single American standard-sized socket (which can take any wattage you care to throw at it) so that the bulb’s filament is at the center of the bowl, giving you optimally diffused and balanced light. The hardware is my own creation (the canopy my reproduction of the best French hexagonal canopy I’ve ever had), and all the parts are either solid brass or bronze with a freshly applied brushed nickel finish. The canopy has been “antiqued” to heighten its visual impact. Measurements: 17 ½ inches across, and from the ceiling to the bottom of the bowl, about 18 inches.
