It’s believed that ancient Egyptians may have had the technology to harness electricity and create light thousands of years ago. This technology is referred to as the light of the Dendera Temple. This customizable pendant light combines ancient Egyptian mysticism with modern home design. Hinterland Design's Dendera is suspended above dining tables, kitchen islands, bar seating; wherever people gather for good conversation. The pendant light comes in a variety of finishes. Shown here is a 48" / 4-foot long version in whitewashed Canadian white ash with white powder-coated hardware and fittings, natural vegetable tanned leather straps, and frosted acrylic diffuser lens. It also available in American black walnut with brass fixture and dark tanner leather, and as a longer 72" / 6-foot long version. Other common customizations are other powder coated or blackened steel fittings. Hangers are made to length depending on your desired drop height. See Hinterland Design's other 1stDibs listings for other finish options. The light is a dimmable low-voltage LED which lives inside the lens and requires a driver box (included) that is housed in one of the 6" round canopies. This driver box should be professionally wire to a junction box to ensure proper light functioning and longevity. Hinterland provides install instructions and detailed driver information to all of it's customers. All of Hinterland Design's wood pieces are hand rubbed in waterborne polyurethane to prevent staining and a beeswax polish for luster.
